About The Role A rewarding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Insurance & Health team in Melbourne on a 12-month contract to cover a period of parental leave. This role will support a number of solicitors at varying levels who specialise in financial lines, health, and employment practices liability (EPL) matters. You’ll work with a team of specialists in their field headed up by Hubert Wajszel and Scott Shelly – principals who are committed to empowering and supporting you. Duties of this role will include: file management – open/archive files and maintain accurate electronic files; monthly billing, debtor control and reporting; adhere to client service standards; prepare and send correspondence and arrange for the filing of court documents; brief preparation to counsel, medical and other experts; diary and travel management including booking appointments; and general administrative support. About You If the following sounds like you, we would love to hear from you: you have previous experience in defendant insurance litigation and understand the importance of client service standards; you have experience using precedents, practice management systems, billing platforms and document management systems; you have an enthusiastic and proactive approach to work, and take ownership of tasks; and you have strong communication skills, and the ability to build strong and collaborative working relationships.
