SPARK OUR INTEREST!
Our hiring decisions are not only based on your experience and skills, but your passion, attitude and alignment to our core values.
We’re seeking a confident communicator, expert collaborator, and strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. You’ll bring a strong mix of technical expertise and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate complex insurance and risk issues and communicate them effectively to senior stakeholders across the business. To succeed in this role, you’ll be degree qualified in Business, Finance, Commerce, Engineering, or a similar quantitative discipline. You’ll also have at least three years of experience managing corporate insurance programs, ideally within a regulated or infrastructure focused environment.
Your deep understanding of the Australian and global insurance market, risk transfer mechanisms, and enterprise risk management will be essential with experience in the energy sector being a definite advantage. You’ll have a proven ability to work closely with brokers, insurers, and consultants to design and implement tailored insurance solutions. Your strengths will include data analysis, spreadsheet modelling, and a keen eye for alternative risk strategies. Strong report writing and presentation skills are a must, along with a working knowledge of corporate governance, relevant regulatory frameworks, and project management principles.
This is a role for someone who’s ready to step into a key position and make an immediate impact, supporting not just the insurance function, but also the broader risk strategy at Ausgrid.
At Ausgrid, we’re more than an energy distributor, we’re a cornerstone of Australia’s energy future. As we continue to power millions of homes and businesses, we’re looking for an experienced and strategic Insurance Manager to join our established Treasury team. This critical role works closely with the Group Treasurer to lead Ausgrid’s annual insurance renewal process, ensuring optimal coverage, cost-efficiency and alignment with our risk appetite.
As Insurance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing Ausgrid’s suite of insurance policies, working hand-in-hand with brokers, advisors, and internal stakeholders to develop innovative insurance and risk management strategies. You will manage insurance claims, conduct quantitative risk analysis, and ensure that insurable risks are effectively mitigated. Your insights will influence executive decision-making, as you will be preparing Board papers, executive briefings, and strategic risk assessments to support our leadership. In this highly collaborative role, you’ll engage across the business to provide expert advice on emerging risks, support enterprise-wide risk frameworks, and educate stakeholders on best practices.
You will play a key role in continuously improving insurance-related governance in partnership with our Legal, Compliance, Procurement and Risk teams. Your ability to work with both data and people will be vital to ensuring our insurance programs remain robust, responsive and future-focused
