Western National is seeking a Product Development Analyst I to join our team! The individual in this role will have the opportunity to ensure Western National remains in compliance with regulatory requirements impacting the filing and approval of insurance products. What are the responsibilities and opportunities of this role? Monitors resources for legislative and regulatory changes and analyzes impact to Western National products. Identifies new requirements that may require policy and form language changes and implements rate, rule, and form changes to comply with statutory requirements. Works with the Actuarial Team on rate changes for assigned business lines and communicates changes to internal and external customers. Holds responsibility for a minimum of one line of business. Creates and manages state filings for assigned line(s) of business. Participates in the testing and auditing of assigned line(s) of business pre- and post-implementation. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with detailed guidelines, established practices, and standard procedures, occasionally requiring independent judgment and interpretation. Gathers input and makes recommendations to solve problems of moderate complexity. Deals with moderately complex problems that must be broken down into manageable pieces. Sees relationships between problem components and prioritizes them. Utilizes knowledge, experience, and available resources to find solutions. Consistently acts according to our customer experience standards, including responding quickly, maintaining a positive attitude, building rapport, demonstrating empathy, managing the customer’s expectations, using the proper communication channel for the situation, and taking ownership to ensure the customer’s issue is resolved. Stays in regular contact with internal customers, such as underwriting. Occasionally interacts with external customers. Performs special projects and other duties as assigned. Requirements What are the must-have qualifications for a candidate? Knowledge of personal and / or commercial lines products. Familiar with insurance policy language. Ability to communicate with internal and external customers. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines. Ability to organize and execute work independently. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience. Proficient use of various core systems, office and computer equipment, and software packages. What will our ideal candidate have? Coursework toward CPCU or other insurance designation preferred. Experience with System for Electronic Rate and Form Filing (SERFF) and bureau websites. Prior property-and-casualty insurance experience. Compensation overview The full hiring range for this role is $66,300 - $91,190, annually. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate, as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role.
