JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, assessing risks, and determining appropriate coverage and premiums. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and a thorough understanding of underwriting principles, as well as the ability to analyze complex financial data.

• Evaluate insurance applications to determine eligibility and risk levels.
• Conduct thorough risk analysis and assess the potential for loss.
• Utilize financial concepts to analyze data related to underwriting decisions.
• Perform quantitative research and financial modeling to support underwriting processes.
• Engage in negotiation with agents and clients regarding terms of coverage.
• Collect and analyze data relevant to underwriting decisions, including credit analysis and cash flow analysis.
• Prepare detailed financial reports that summarize findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with other departments, including accounting and loan processing, to ensure accurate underwriting practices.
• Monitor industry trends and changes in regulations that may impact underwriting policies.
• Implement fraud prevention and detection measures during the underwriting process.
