ABOUT US
The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia’s largest and most-loved charities. We believe in doing good that transforms lives and futures for the better. It is this belief which drives us to find new ways and places where we can make a difference. From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.
Why the role matters
The Salvation Army Australia’s (TSA) Homelessness Stream provides high-quality, person-centered services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. Foster House offers a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment to some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people experiencing homelessness in the inner city of Sydney. The 24/7-hour service supports fifty single men in a residential setting. The team works in line with Trauma Informed Care principles, the No Wrong Door Policy, and The Salvation Army’s Mission, Vision & Values at all times.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Intake and Assessment Worker to conduct needs-based assessments in a prompt, empathetic and collaborative manner. This is a permanent part-time (22.8 Hours Per Week) position based in Surry Hills, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Crisis Level 1.
