JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing patient intake processes, ensuring that all necessary information is collected accurately and efficiently. This position requires strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals. The Intake Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensuring high-quality patient service.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred. (Willing to train the right candidate)
  • Familiarity with medical billing, coding (ICD coding), and insurance processes is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in using EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and typing proficiency.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to enhance patient interactions.

  • Experience with multi-line phone systems and clerical tasks such as filing is beneficial. Responsibilities
  • Manage the patient intake process, including collecting and verifying patient information.
  • Conduct insurance verification and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
  • Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Hospice MD, and eClinicalWorks for data entry and management.
  • Review medical documentation for accuracy and completeness in accordance with CPT coding and ICD-10/ICD-9 standards.
  • Provide administrative support in a medical office setting, including scheduling appointments and managing front desk operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with care plan development and documentation review as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their intake process, addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient transitions.
