As an Intake Counselor for Aurora Behavioral Healthcare San Diego, you’ll assess the needs of our incoming patients, schedule appointments, give referrals, and coordinate care for patients in need. You will serve actively and constructively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team, supporting the organization and program or unit philosophy of care; to ensure the safety and well-being of each patient. *Pay Range: $30/hr. to $46/hr. Available Shifts: Full Time: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, from 10:00 A.M. to 6:30 P.M. Responsibilities: Respond to routine and crisis calls coming into the Intake Department Assess patients for suicidal, homicidally, and other dangerous propensities Provide DSM-5 diagnoses in consultation with the psychiatrist Complete managed care authorizations for patient treatment Interface with other hospital departments in arranging patient care Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team Handling legal issues related to patient care, such as 5150 criteria, conservatorships, minors’ issues Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or Related Behavioral Health Sciences BLS (Basic Life Support ) Certification for Healthcare Providers following the American Heart Association guidelines 401K Retirement Plan Health Insurance Vision Insurance Dental Insurance Pet Insurance Healthcare Spending Account & Dependent Care Spending Account Life Insurance (Supplemental Life, Term, and Universal plans are also available.)
