Description
The Intake Specialist functions as a member of the Access to Care team to assure prompt, accurate, scheduling of patients. Intake Specialist receives calls for intake appointments, triages calls for level of care, clinical eligibility, and financial eligibility. • Demonstrate adherence to the PHP/SBHI Patient Experience philosophy, guidelines and tools. • Demonstrate strong ethics, honesty, and adherence to PHP/SBHI Code of Conduct and PHP/SBHI Compliance Program • Demonstrate competency and accuracy in screening, triaging, scheduling, and assessing the service needs of patients, and their families and link patients/families with services (when appropriate), and/or other agencies. • Protect the confidentiality of patient information. • Maintain and strengthen working relationships with all customers and agencies. Communicate and perform with the consumer in mind by establishing and maintaining effective relationships to gain their trust and support. • Acquire any insurance information from patient/family prior to scheduling diagnostic assessment. If necessary, refer patient to private insurance company for authorization or recommendation. • Answer telephones, take messages, and forward calls in a friendly, helpful, and timely manner. Respond and comply with all administrative/managerial email communication within the requested timeframe. • Manage and send out daily wait time report to management and assessors. • Ensure that all outside referrals are responded to within five (5) days. Minimum Level of Education Required: High School Completion/GED Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1-3 years of job-related experience 1 - 3 years of job-related experience Prior job title or occupational experience: N/AN/A Prior specific functional responsibilities: Customer service, front desk registration, insurance verification experience. Customer service, front desk registration Preferred experience: Previous experience working for mental health or substance use treatment agencies and/or telephonic customer service.
