Job Title: Intake Specialist - Enrollment & Assessment (12 months contract - possibility of extension)
Reports to: Manage of Enrollment & Assessment and Director of Service Delivery

Responsibilities
  • Complete all steps of the Enrollment, Screening and Matching process as per outlined by BBBSC’s National Standards and BBBST Policies and Procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, database entry of all applications, requesting supplementary reports for mentees, completing Reference checks for mentors, Pre-Match Training requirements, In-Person Assessments, Fitness to Mentor completion, Program allocation, Notification Letters and Matching
  • Prepare detailed written volunteer and/or client assessments to document relevant background information and recommend suitability for a BBBST program
  • Ensure high-level proficiency in applying child safety and risk management knowledge, policies and procedures throughout all aspects of job function. Identify child safety issues for volunteers, children and their families
  • Conduct volunteer and client reassessments/updates where appropriate
  • Participate in monthly ‘Matching Meetings’ with Enrollment Team
  • Present potential matches to Match Support team via monthly ‘Meet your Matches’ meetings. Verbally present potential matches in a strength-based approach to match members
  • Respond to all family and volunteer calls of inquiry regarding the enrollment process or their individual status
  • Have a current understanding of all current family, child and youth legislation in Ontario and available resources and support in Toronto
  • Complete Agency Reports requested from other BBBS agencies and/or request Agency Reports when necessary
  • Provide families, children or volunteers with appropriate referrals to other community service organizations
  • Advocate with and for families in accessing community supports
  • Abide by BBBSC National Standards and Child Safety standards throughout all functions
  • Attend agency events, as needed
  • Maintain strict Confidentiality and adhere to the Privacy Statement as set out in the BBBST Policies and Procedures
  • Days/hours of work – 5 days per week, including a minimum of 3 evenings a week. Please note Assessment Interviews can take place on the weekend for the convenience of families and volunteers
  • Highlight funding opportunities as discovered through volunteers, parent/guardians and community
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager and Stewardship tea
