IL, seeks a Centralized Intake Specialist, Behavioral Health. This is a Full Time Salaried Role. The Position will be Seated at our Corporate Office in Lincolnwood which is 6800 North, just over the border from Chicago. YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST A BACHELORS DEGREE IN PSYCHOLOGY, SOCIAL SERVICES OR OTHER MENTAL HEALTH RELATED STUDIES WITH 3 YEARS OF INTAKE EXPERIENCE or have been a QMHP, A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR OR LICENSED SOCIAL WORKER. The primary purpose of this role is to review/assess referrals received from Hospitals or other referral sources for potential placement at one of 4 of our Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facilities (SMHRFs) in the Chicago area. Thus, the position requires experience in the assessment of mental health and behavioral issues and a good understanding of psychotropic medications and their use with specific illnesses. Responsibilities of the Centralized Intake Specialist, Behavioral Health: Respond to all phone inquiries, EFaxes and community referrals in a timely manner Develop relationships with hospitals and social workers that lead to admissions Review and assess all referrals and collaborate with building leadership to determine and facilitate referrals Utilize Green/Yellow/Red process to determine appropriate placement Conduct all necessary background checks (IDOC, ISO) and MEDI check Ensure PASRR is active and approved Develop and administer data-base tracking for referrals Monitor each facility on a daily basis Assist Regional Director of Behavioral Development with promotional events Since 1991, Generations Healthcare Management/SIR Management Health Care Consultants has been providing specialized mental health rehabilitation services to our Illinois clients. IND1 Requirements Requirements of the Centralized Intake Specialist, Behavioral Health: Patient Assessment skills (via referral and interview) for Adults with Mental Illness Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Psych or related studies; Master's Degree preferred Experience and knowledge of area hospitals and other referral sources Established relationships with social workers, physicians, and discharge planners preferred Good working understanding and knowledge of psychotropic medications and the conditions they treat Have experience as an intake coordinator for mental health facilities or hospitals Basic understanding of Medicaid and Social Security benefits as pertains to SMHRFs Understanding of Pre-Admission Screening (PAS) process Demonstrated problem solving skills Available 40 hours a week, and as needed by phone Evening and weekend availability as needed Able to travel to facilities in Chicago and Evanston if needed
