Position Summary The Intake Specialist is responsible for processing incoming calls, collecting patient demographics, verifying insurance details, and ensuring accurate documentation of referrals. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Intake Specialist plays a key role in ensuring a smooth intake process for clients seeking psychological evaluations and CANS assessments. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Process incoming calls and collect patient demographics, insurance information, and other relevant details. Complete referral forms based on service requests and faxes. Accurately document all patient requests and intake information in the system. Maintain efficient call handling while ensuring excellent patient service. Assist clients in identifying the most appropriate location and appointment time. Transfer calls to the correct departments when necessary. Support team members as needed to maintain smooth operations. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Job Requirements Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of one year of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare or call center setting. Experience with inbound call handling and data entry preferred. Skills and Competencies: Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to empathize with clients in need of care. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Salesforce. Ability to adapt to changing work environments and handle high call volumes efficiently. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting and using a computer.
