Main Street Project (MSP) is a community health Centre with a mandate to address the social determinants of health which give rise to issues of addiction, physical and mental health issues and homelessness. MSP uses housing-first and harm reduction principles in the provision of a safe, respectful and accessible place for individuals who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in the community. Since 1972, MSP has been providing a range of services to Winnipeg’s most marginalized residents, including emergency shelter and nutrition services, drug and alcohol withdrawal management services, health advocacy and support, case management services, housing support services, food bank services and a mobile community outreach program.

JOB SUMMARY
The Intake Worker is a key connection to potential and current participants of the Main Street Project’s Withdrawal Management Program. The Intake Worker will connect individuals attempting to access MSP services and assist with identifying bed dates, building a connection, provide access to resources, and set a participant up for success within our WMS programs.
The Intake Worker will work with WMS Case Managers to assist with connecting to primary care, income, addictions & mental health supports to break down barriers and advocate for their participants. Following the completion of a participants stay in WMS services, the Intake Worker will continue to make contact with discharged participants to maintain connection and provide outgoing support. Relationship building is the key function of this role.
