He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role We are looking for an experienced Integration Lead to join our Digital team on a contract basis until November 2026. Reporting to the Development Manager, this is a senior hands‑on leadership role responsible for the technical direction, delivery, and ongoing evolution of Watercare’s integration platform and services. The Integration Lead is accountable for ensuring that enterprise integrations are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned to business strategy. This role leads the integration chapter, providing technical leadership, setting standards and best practices, and guiding teams to deliver high‑quality integration solutions that enable critical business processes across the organisation. With responsibility for a large and diverse integration landscape, the role balances people leadership, technical leadership, and strategic ownership. You will work closely with product owners, value stream leads, architects, and other Digital leaders to shape integration strategy, prioritise initiatives, and ensure integrations support both current operational needs and long‑term digital aspirations. You will play a key role in monitoring emerging technologies, defining future‑state integration patterns, and planning for growth and sustainability, while remaining actively involved in delivery and supporting squads in an agile environment. Key responsibilities include: Provide clear leadership and technical direction for the Integration chapter, establishing a shared vision and standards across Watercare’s integration platform Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing team of integration specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance Own the integration strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, business capabilities, and organisational priorities Work closely with product owners, value stream leads, and stakeholders to understand needs, shape solution options, and prioritise platform and integration work Oversee the design, build, configuration, support, and continuous improvement of integrations across their full lifecycle Define and maintain integration patterns, best practices, and guardrails to ensure solutions are secure, robust, and scalable Support agile delivery teams by providing hands‑on technical expertise, guidance on integration design, and advice on risk, dependencies, and technical debt Monitor delivery performance, platform health, risks, and technical sustainability, using data and insights to support informed decision‑making Build strong internal and external relationships to ensure integrations are well governed, well communicated, and effectively delivered Ngā pūkenga e rapu nei mātou | About you You are a technically strong and people‑focused leader with deep experience in integration platforms and modern cloud‑based architectures. You bring a pragmatic and strategic mindset, balancing hands‑on delivery with long‑term thinking, and are comfortable operating in a complex enterprise environment. You are confident engaging with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, able to translate business needs into integration solutions while managing risk, security, and platform sustainability.
