Description

The Integration Support Engineer is responsible for monitoring API traffic and ensuring the proper transmission of data between systems owned by B2B partners and government clients. This role plays a critical part in maintaining system reliability, identifying and resolving integration issues, and ensuring compliance with data exchange standards. As part of a cross-functional team, the Integration Support Engineer collaborates closely with Integration Engineers, Developer Experience Engineers, and Technical Program Managers to proactively manage integration performance and address technical challenges.
Success in this role requires expertise in API monitoring, AWS networking, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SOAP and REST APIs, and JSON/XML. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to maintain the efficiency, security, and reliability of data integrations.

Responsibilities

  • API Traffic Monitoring – Continuously monitor API requests, ensuring data integrity and optimal system performance.
  • Issue Detection & Resolution – Identify and troubleshoot integration failures, take corrective actions, and work with partners to resolve API-related issues.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with internal engineering, product, and program teams to drive operational improvements and enhance system reliability.
  • Compliance & Security – Ensure data transmission aligns with regulatory and security standards applicable to government and B2B integrations.
  • Technical Documentation & Reporting – Maintain accurate records of system performance, issue resolutions, and integration status reports.
  • Incident Management & Escalation – Serve as the first line of defense for API and data transmission issues, escalating to engineering teams as necessary.
  • Process Improvement – Analyze integration trends, identify areas for automation, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of monitoring tools and workflows.

Qualifications

  • Education:
  • Minimum Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Preferred: Certifications in AWS, ITIL, or API management tools.
  • Preferred Certifications: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, ITIL Foundation, or relevant API monitoring certifications.Experience:
  • 3-6 years of experience in integration support, API monitoring, cloud infrastructure, or network operations.
  • Strong background in AWS services, SQL databases (SSMS), API management, and system monitoring tools.
  • Experience working with government and enterprise-level clients is a plus.Special Skills:
  • Proficiency in AWS cloud networking, API logging, and data transmission protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with SOAP and REST APIs, JSON/XML, and SQL Server (SSMS).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve integration failures.
  • Experience using monitoring and logging tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Splunk, Datadog) to track API traffic and system health.
  • Ability to work with external partners and government agencies to resolve technical integration issues.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, ensuring clear reporting of issues and resolutions.
  • Proactive approach to improving system monitoring, troubleshooting processes, and incident response workflows.
