JOB TITLE: Intel Specialist LOCATION: Pristina, Kosovo NATO GRADE: MCIV3 The NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) is deployed in Kosovo to help maintain a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all citizens, irrespective of their ethnic origin. KFOR is part of the wider international effort to build peace and stability in the area. Headquarters KFOR (HQ KFOR) is based in Camp Film City, Pristina. KFOR HQ J2 develops and maintains an intelligence capability to support execution of the KFOR Mission. J2X is a section of J2 and is composed of HUMINT and Counter Intelligence (CI) subsections. J2X Coordinates intelligence activities with Allied Command Counter Intelligence (ACCI) to plan, coordinate, conduct and de-conflict Counter-Intelligence and HUMINT operations in order to satisfy COMKFOR's Priority Intelligence Requirement (PIRs). LEP Debriefing Cell is the base of the vetting and screening process - assessing the local employees' (LEP) background and determining the eligibility to have access in any KFOR Installation/facility The Intel Specialist supports the HUMINT/CI operators on cultural awareness issues/language usage and supports the LEP Debriefing Cell in the daily operations providing language and cultural interpretations during face-to-face security interviews. The position also collects open-source intelligence from publicly available sources such as newspaper, the internet and other social media Principal duties: Support HUMINT/CI Support vetting/screening process Conduct open-source researches Act as cultural/local language advisor Other additional duties: May be required to undertake operational deployments and/or TDY assignments both within and outside NATO’s boundaries Performs other related duties as assigned. The work is normally performed in a normal NATO office-working environment. Normal Working Conditions apply. The employee may be required to perform a similar range of duties elsewhere within the organization at the same grade without there being any change to the contract. The incumbent may be required to undertake TDY assignments, both within and outside NATO boundaries. The required qualifications are: Higher Secondary Education Minimum 3 years' experience in a government, military, security or intelligence environment. Broad and up-to-date knowledge of political, cultural, scientific and technical matters especially related to the former Yugoslavia English: Candidate will be required to have a very good level of speaking, reading, writing, and listening in English. Candidates who are shortlisted for the position will be administered a language test. Serbian: Candidate will be required to have a very good level of speaking, reading, writing, and listening in Serbian. Candidates who are shortlisted for the position will be administered a language test The desired qualifications are: Experience working with military. Vocational training in CI Security. HUMINT training. Experience in using NATO Intel Databases. Knowledge of classified document handling and control procedures Albanian: Minimum professional knowledge of the required language enough to follow telephone and radio communications, conversations in standard language, with adequate vocabulary to understand all practical, professional and social conversations in a known field. Ability to write official correspondence, minutes etc. with limited need for review.
