The role | Te tūnga As an Intelligence Analyst, based in Wellington or Auckland you will provide tactical and operational intelligence analysis and advice, to support the Identity Investigations Unit and leadership in preventing, detecting and sanctioning identity crime and other fraudulent activity. Through collection and analysis, identity intelligence interprets the operating environment and influences decision makers so they can make informed decisions that reduce harm, manage risk, and positively impact the Identity environment. The role is embedded in and works closely with the Identity Investigations Unit, internal stakeholders, and other agencies to identify risks and trends, build profiles, and provide analysis of matters affecting the integrity of Department of Internal Affairs identity products and services. What you bring | Nōu te rourou Experience: * 2-3 years of proven experience in applying intelligence principles and tools to deliver operational and tactical intelligence analysis. * Experience in managing and communicating complex and sensitive information. * Proven ability to establish, build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and senior leadership. Knowledge: * Knowledge in the application of intelligence tools and methodologies. * A strong understanding of risk. * A knowledge and application of the relevant legislation. * A good understanding of privacy and the handling of sensitive material. Skills: * Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills and the ability to communicate with credibility and convey complex information to a variety of audiences. * Highly proficient in the use of general computer applications (Word, Excel) as well as specialist software as required. An ability to learn new software packages quickly. * Experience and competency in using i2 Analyst Notebook. * Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, both internal and external, able to establish and maintain effective relationships. * Ability to interpret legislation and policy. * Demonstrated high personal integrity. * Flexible and adaptable approach to work. * Competent problem solver and the ability to identify issues and recommend solutions in a time critical environment. * Tenacity to work on complex issues and operations which can be active for several years. Education: * A university degree. * Additionally, a Diploma in Intelligence Analysis or equivalent is preferred (New Zealand Police College or equivalent). Other: * New Zealand citizenship. * Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of a Top-Secret National Security Clearance. * Police clearance. * Credit check. * This role may involve some travel.
