An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) as an Intelligence Development Officer within the Crawley Investigations Syndicate.
Intelligence Development Officers are integral to the Research and Analysis department in SEROCU. In this role you will support the management of Organised Crime Groups, the development of information concerning serious organised crime (SOC) activity and support analysts in the production of analytical products.

As an IDO in Investigations you will be responsible for:

  • Researching and assessing intelligence on individuals and organisations linked to organised crime.
  • The preparation and presentation of information and findings to support ongoing operations.
  • Supporting live time operations with real time research and information evaluation.
  • Monitoring and maintaining intelligence sources to support operational objectives
  • Preparing applications for telecoms data under RIPA legislation.
  • Supporting the analytical function with specialist Internet Intelligence and Investigations research using open source techniques.

If you have an enquiring mind, are keen to research, and develop information then this is a job role to consider. You will be exposed to work in a fast-paced environment, deal with a diverse range of tasks and learn a broad range of skills to build a career in intelligence.
Please refer to the attached job description for a full outline of the role.
Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence. Additionally, this role supports live operations and investigations so there maybe times where the flexibility to work overtime is required to manage operational risk.
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level SC. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
You can find more information about security vetting here.
