We have a highly engaged, diverse and collaborative workforce that is unified by our goal to help people live healthy and fulfilled lives.   About the Intensive Care Unit  The Intensive Care Unit is a 29 bed unit providing impressive equipment and facilities for staff and patients. The Unit has a strong research and teaching culture and is known for providing treatment to a broad range of patients, including liver transplant, spinal injured patients, neurosurgical, thoracic, cardiac surgery, general medical and liver failure, and a ward support service via the Medical Emergency Team.   About the role The role of Intensivist is a senior medical position and carries with it the professional responsibilities of clinical leadership, teaching, governance and administrative requirements.  Consultant Intensivists are expected to provide high level Intensive Critical Care services within their approved scope of clinical practice as part of the Intensive Care team at Austin Health. All Intensivists are expected to be able to provide routine specialist Intensive Care services and cover “on call” after hours. As such, a minimum level of expertise and skill-set is necessary.   About you  To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you: A commitment to Austin Health Values Must be a registered Medical Practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Hold a Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand Have appropriate training and experience applicable to the field of Intensive Care. Sub-specialty interests strongly encouraged. Demonstrated commitment to high quality patient care. Demonstrated commitment and ongoing activity in research and/or clinical audit activities.
