Our purpose is to provide a broad range of activities and programmes that strive to create an outstanding student experience developing whanaungatanga (sense of belonging) to Dunedin, the University and each other. The role | Te mahi The Inter-College Competition Coordinator is part of the Unipol whānau and reports to the Inter-College Competition Lead Coordinator. The role of the coordinator is to organise and assist the delivery and development of the Inter-College programme. With a focus on running the Competition smoothly and safely and alignment with the values of fairness and inclusivity while producing high quality events, contributing to an outstanding student experience. The Inter-College Competition involves more than 25 one-off and ongoing events across three distinctly different sections: Sport, Cultural, and Games. With participation from the 14 Residential Colleges as well as the Locals community, UniFlats, and Te Pā Tauira, the programme provides a unique environment for first year Otago University students to engage in an array of recreational activities. The successful running of the programme involves: • Recruiting and training of staff including referees, assistants and medics. • Creating competition draws and schedules. • Rostering of staff and recording of timesheets. • Coordinating the site/venue set up, pack downs. • Supervision of activities across multiple venues. • Inputting and interpreting results. • Applying the Competition handbook in a fair and consistent manner. • Producing a range of marketing and promotional material. Your skills and experience | Kā pūkeka me kā wheako We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person who has a passion for service to students through recreation. Our ideal candidate will have: • A relevant tertiary qualification in Sport/Recreation/Management. • Experience working in a recreation environment. • Be physically fit. • Strong planning, organisation, and communication skills. • Experience dealing with Health and Safety. Further details | Pūroko This is a full time, 37.5 hours per week position, based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin. Due to the nature of the recreation environment and a busy semester time schedule, work will sometimes occur during weekends and evenings. The ability to be flexible with hours during these periods is also important. The salary range for this appointment is at level 4 $63,508 to $68,185. Top of range $73,640.
