ABOUT THE ROLE

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Interaction Designer to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 3-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.
Our client is seeking an experienced Interaction Designer to help shape and deliver high-profile digital products and services for some of the UK’s largest organisations, including public sector bodies. This is an opportunity to make a real impact by designing innovative, user-focused solutions that deliver measurable value to businesses and society.
Working with leading technologies and a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, you will take part in all phases of the design process—from research and concept creation to final delivery—ensuring solutions are usable, accessible, and aligned with user needs.
You will also contribute to the development of our design capability, supporting the growth of their Centres of Excellence, service offerings, and engagement with clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the end-to-end design of new digital products and services
  • Create high-quality, compelling design outputs such as personas, journey maps, service blueprints, wireframes, and prototypes
  • Lead and facilitate design workshops and sprints involving users, stakeholders, and delivery teams
  • Collaborate with user researchers to ensure design decisions are evidence-based and focused on real user needs
  • Rapidly design and iterate digital prototypes for user testing and validation
  • Support and mentor other designers within the team
  • Contribute to business development activities and the continuous improvement of design practices and processes
