Course: Interface Design 4: Content Management Systems
In this course, students learn how to use various content-management systems including, but not limited to websites, blogs, e-mail marketing, and social media. Students design and produce strategic assets, and learn how to set up hosting and populate content inside an industry standard CMS. Technology requirement: Students provide their own laptop, mouse, and subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud.

What You Will Do:

  • Facilitate weekly main discussion forums to engage students in the online classroom
  • Adhere to weekly grading requirements, deadlines, and timeframes
  • Respond to students’ questions and emails within the established timeframes
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University

What You Will Bring:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, UX/UI Design, Graphic Design, or a closely related field
  • Master’s degree and 3+ years of professional design industry experience preferred

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Proficiency in User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design
  • Experience designing for and working with Content Management Systems (CMS), such as WordPress
  • Strong understanding of the design thinking process
  • Industry knowledge of design principles, typography, color theory, and current design trends

Software Proficiency

  • Ability to teach using the most current version of:
  • Adobe XD (Experience Design)
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator

Additional Information

  • Relevant professional backgrounds include Product Designer and UX/UI Designer
  • Candidates must provide their own hardware and software, as GCU does not supply these outside of campus classrooms
  • A portfolio of recent, professional work is required with the application
