JOB DESCRIPTION

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interface Engineer to join our team in Chesapeake, VA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining, documenting, and managing the interfaces between various hardware and software systems within complex defense and technology projects. This role requires a strong understanding of systems engineering principles and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple disciplines to ensure seamless integration and functionality. This position is contingent upon contract award.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field.
  • Client experience requirements: Between 6 to 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Client education requirements: BA/BS degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant field; Candidate must have an undergraduate degree from an ABET accredited program.
  • 4 years of additional equivalent experience can be substituted for a BA/BS degree.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience resolving interface design problems.
  • Experience in resolving element, multi-element, and weapon or combat system hardware, interface, and interoperability issues.
  • Experience with components and systems interface through cables.
  • Experience with selecting cable types, understanding of cabling that is approved for shipboard use and the standards and requirements for shipboard cabling with respect to interface of electrical/electronic component, and development of cable run sheets in addition to cable/connector selections based on interface requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • An active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience with interface management in highly regulated environments (e.g., defense/naval, nuclear, offshore).
