POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Director of Finance & Administration will oversee all aspects of the organization’s finance, accounting, compliance, and administrative operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this role will provide financial leadership, strategic insight, and operational excellence to ensure the organization’s continued growth and sustainability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP) and government funding compliance.
  • Proven track record of managing multi-million-dollar budgets and grants.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems and financial reporting software.
  • Passion for the mission of addressing homelessness and advancing social equity.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely completion of month-end close, reporting, and annual audits.
  • Partner with the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior leadership to provide financial insights that drive strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain budgets for $50M+ in annual funding, including government contracts, foundation grants, and private donations.
  • Oversee compliance with government regulations and funder requirements, including grant reporting and restricted fund tracking.
  • Manage organizational cash flow, forecasting, and treasury operations.
  • Enhance internal systems and processes to improve efficiency, transparency, and accountability.
  • Lead risk management, insurance, and contract administration.
  • Supervise HR and administrative operations (depending on organizational structure).
