Location: Sheffield / London / Hybrid Working
(Expectation that you will attend an office 2 days per week)
Contract: Fixed Term Contract – up to 9 months
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week/flexible days and/or hours (Mon-Fri)

Responsibilities

The British Business Bank is a progressive and dynamic government-owned economic development bank dedicated to making finance markets work better for smaller businesses. Independently managed, our remit is to design, deliver and efficiently manage UK-wide smaller business access to finance programmes for the UK government.
In this pivotal role you will provides strategic leadership, direction, management and oversight on all aspects of risk to ensure the Bank meets its objectives and delivers economic impact for the UK and its smaller businesses.
This role offers an exciting and unique opportunity for you as a Risk leader to make a real difference to the UK economy and work at the centre of the small business ecosystem across the full range of capital products. You will be accountable for driving the development and implementation of the risk management and measurement frameworks for all key risks (credit and investment, market, operational, financial crime, reputational, compliance and conduct risks).
This is a high profile appointment where you will, as a member of ExCo, contribute to the growth and development of the Bank, not only as the CRO but on a broad multi-functional level, presenting risk management strategy recommendations to the Executive, Board and Shareholder.
As a risk professional you will have experience and good working knowledge of key risk classes including credit, market, reputational, operational, financial crime, cyber, compliance and conduct risk plus systems to manage, monitor and report on these risks. you will also have experience as a CRO or a senior risk management leadership role within the asset management, investment, or financial services sector.
SMF16 regulatory experience with a strong understanding of the FCA regulatory environment is also required.
