Job Description
The Wellesley College Music Department invites applications for an interim choral director for the 2025-2026 academic year. This half-time position is benefits-eligible. The interim choral director will recruit, audition, and rehearse two related ensembles – the Wellesley College Choir and the Wellesley College Chamber Singers – in preparation for numerous performances throughout the academic year. The director will also liaise with the college’s choir club, which interfaces between student government and the ensemble. These two ensembles perform one concert each semester and other events throughout the academic year as part of college rituals including Christmas Vespers and Baccalaureate. Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in conducting and experience leading large ensembles. Preferred qualifications: terminal degree (PhD or DMA) in conducting and experience leading a collegiate choral ensemble.
