POSITION SUMMARY: Blue Hills Regional Technical School seeks a dedicated and organized Interim Co-operative Education Coordinator to oversee the school’s student work-based learning program during the 2025–2026 school year. This is a part-time interim position responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and expanding opportunities for eligible juniors and seniors to participate in high-quality, paid co-op placements aligned with their Chapter 74 vocational program.
STARTING DATE: Immediately
HOURS: 15-18 Hours Per Week

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MASS DESE license as Cooperative Education Coordinator
  • Experience in career technical education; leadership experience preferred
  • Proven ability to organize, manage
  • Possess a positive work ethic and attitude
  • 5 years of relevant experience is preferred
  • Citizenship, residency, or work VISA in the U.S. is required
  • Such alternatives to the above as deemed appropriate by the Superintendent-Director
  • Knowledge of MA labor laws, OSHA requirements and DESE co-op regulations
  • Experience in employer outreach and partnership building
  • Ability to work effectively with students, employers and school staff
    SALARY: Per individual contract with the Superintendent-Director Range $45 to $50 per Hour

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all aspects of the cooperative education program in accordance with MA Department of Elementary Secondary Education (DESE) guidelines
  • Ensure students, programs, and employers meet DESE regulations and federal requirements
  • Recruit, screen and approve co-op employers, ensure placements align with students’ vocational programs, meet safety and labor regulations
  • Complete CORI forms for all employers
  • Visit and preview job sites as needed, assessing potential job placements
  • Oversee application and approval process for eligible students, including review of grades, attendance and teacher recommendations
  • Maintain contact with employers and students placed on co-op.
  • Coordinate placement of students with employers, instructors, students, and families
  • Promote career readiness skills with students, including workplace readiness, employability skills and professional conduct
  • Maintain compliance will all school, district and state reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with vocational instructors, guidance counselors and administrators to ensure student success
  • Assist as needed in the Admissions office and with the general administrative duties of the school.
