In addition the Interim SLT Manager must demonstrate particular experience of working in children’s disability Services and have an understanding of the complexities of the needs of children accessing a CDNT Service.
They must also demonstrate knowledge of the requirements of SLTs working on CDNTs, a clear understanding of the model of service and of the policies underpinning delivery of CDNT services.
They must also demonstrate understanding of where the work of the CDNTs interfaces with other key services for children in particular Primary Care and CAMHS.

St Michael’s House (SMH) Children & Young Person’s Service is seeking to recruit an Interim Discipline Manager for SLT.
This is a key role in CYP services in SMH and in the Community Health Organisation (CHO9).
The Interim Speech and Language Therapy Discipline Manager will be responsible for the delivery and development of a high quality, integrated and effective Speech and Language Therapy service within an interdisciplinary service model across the 4 SMH Network teams covering the areas of Coolock, Ballymun Kilbarrack and Baldoyle/Coastal. These teams provide clinical services to children with complex needs requiring interdisciplinary supports. Currently SMH provides services to over 1800 children and families open and waitlist.
The Interim Speech and Language Therapy Discipline Manager will be a member of the SMH Childrens and Young Persons Directorate and will work collaboratively with the team on all clinical and other relevant matters related to the provision of services to children and young people receiving services from St. Michaels House.
Using the key principles of the Progressing Disability Services for Children and Young People programme as a model of service, based on family centred practice and interdisciplinary team working, the Interim Speech and Language Therapist Manager in the CDNTs of SMH will be responsible for the delivery and development of a high quality, integrated and effective Speech and Language Therapy service within an interdisciplinary service model.
