Responsibilities

ROLE PURPOSE

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join us on an interim basis of 6 months. Working as part of the maintenance team, the purpose of this role is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on a variety of equipment, machinery, and building systems.
You will be an instrumental part of our team here at Rocal, ensuring our machinery and equipment runs smoothly for the successful operation of the business.
The position operates on a rotating pattern, between a 6:00am-2:00pm shift, and a 2:00pm-10:00pm shift.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems including building infrastructure.
  • Inspect equipment & infrastructure to identify & escalate issues and make necessary repairs to avoid downtime
  • Respond quickly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize downtime.
  • Identify the root cause of the issue and make immediate repairs or temporary fixes as needed.
  • Follow preventive maintenance schedules to ensure that machinery and systems are operating at peak efficiency.
  • Record maintenance and repair activities in maintenance logs/CMMS and maintain an inventory of spare parts.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while working on equipment & ensure that all repairs and maintenance comply with local and industry regulations.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and report them to supervisors or management.
  • Work closely with production management, engineers, and other team members regarding the status of equipment and any potential issues that need to be addressed as well as to align on priorities
