Job Description
Reporting to the Director, Security & Loss Prevention, you are a Guardian and Protector in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of your fellow employees, guests and visitors. You are attentive, efficient and committed and will ensure your property remains a safe, enjoyable workplace and travel destination. Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
- Ensure the overall safety and security of the Hotel guests, Colleagues and Hotel premises
- Oversee the day-to-day supervision of the Security Department
- Ensure scheduling of Security Agents for appropriate coverage
- Communicate all required information to Security Team
- Guide and support the Security Agents in their duties
- Complete daily security reports
- Report the Team’s payroll hours to Accounting
- Patrol the Hotel’s premises and adjoining parking lot; citing insecurities and fire hazards
- Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team, responding in cases of fires, accidents, safety concerns and calls for medical assistance
- Ensure that any violations of the Law or Hotel Policies are investigated and reported
- Respond to all emergency situations and provide First Aid and C.P.R. as required
- Correct and report any fire, health and/or safety hazards
- Report and investigate occurrences of accidents, complaints, criminal activities and crisis situations
- Liaise with guests in event of guest room incidents
- Produces and communicates all guests and colleagues accident reports
- Conduct regular floor patrols, cash counts and crowd control
- Conduct departmental key control audits
- Be knowledgeable in the use of all security equipment, i.e. radios, cameras, electronic lock systems
- Maintain computer records of all actions in a Daily Activity Report
- Assist guests regarding Hotel facilities in an informative and helpful manner
- Follow Hotel and department policies, procedures and service standards
- Assist in the orientation of new staff to the Hotel`s security procedures
- Participate actively in the recruitment, training and performance management of new Security Agents
- Participate in the Department Head meetings
- Follow all safety policies
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Certification in a related discipline preferred
- Certification in CPR First Aid required
- Previous pertinent leadership experience in a related role required
- Exceptional interpersonal and guest handling skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Highly responsible and reliable
- Ability to lead and guide other Security Agents
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast pace environment
- Ability handle emergency situations in a professional and in control state at all times
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Ability to focus on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to new situations
- Computer literate in Microsoft Windows application required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of French is a strong asset
- Must be available to work variable shifts
