The Interior Design Coordinator will support the Interior Designer in the planning, design, and execution of interior design initiatives within existing American House communities. This role ensures that renovations, refreshes, and enhancements are delivered on time, on budget, and in alignment with brand standards, while elevating the resident experience. The position requires hands-on involvement in community visits, FF&E management, and cross-department collaboration to deliver impactful design solutions. Key Responsibilities Capital Improvement Design Assist the Interior Designer in leading the design process for community renovations, remodels, and upgrades across multiple locations. Develop finish selections, furnishings, color schemes, and layouts that reflect American House brand standards. Balance design aesthetics with durability, safety, and accessibility needs for senior living. Project Coordination & Execution Support the Senior Interior Designer in creating budgets, timelines, and scope of work for capital improvement projects. Source, purchase, and coordinate delivery/installation of furnishings, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E). Manage vendor and contractor relationships to ensure projects meet quality, cost, and schedule requirements. Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, verify installation, and confirm design intent. Manage procurement process, invoice processing and presentation preparation for internal and external stakeholders. Community Engagement & Support Partner with community leaders and staff to assess needs and incorporate feedback into design solutions. Ensure furniture and décor are properly placed and functional for residents and staff. Provide ongoing design support to maintain consistency and quality across all communities. Cross-Department Collaboration Work closely with the Interior Designer, as well as Development, Facilities, and Operations teams, to align design priorities with operational goals. Prepare and present design boards, materials, and recommendations for leadership approval. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a 3-year capital expenditure (CapEx) plan for design improvements. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field. 2–4 years of professional design experience, preferably in renovations, remodels, or capital improvement projects. Strong knowledge of FF&E procurement, project budgeting, and vendor coordination. Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills. Understanding of accessibility and safety standards within senior housing, hospitality, or multifamily environments is strongly preferred.
