• Meet with architects, designers, and engineers to discuss design ideas.
• Develop product designs from scratch.
• Present rough design drafts for client approval.
• Ensure product designs meet the required safety and structural standards.
• Generate Solid and Surface CAD models using AutoCAD software.
• Follow specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings.
• Prepare both rough sketches and detailed work with CADD systems.
• Perform calculations for materials and weight limitations.
• Communicate with architects and engineers, and incorporate knowledge gained into drawings.
• Learn the uses of different types of wood and choose the right material for the job.
• Understand technical drawings and how your work will fit within the building.
• Conduct site surveys.
• Create design drawings, alongside sketches of the work needed and the specifications.
