Description

We are seeking an experienced Interior Designer to join our Design team to develop design specifications for single-family residential construction. This includes exterior and interior packages. Work closely with architects, production, scheduling, and internal customer support to ensure on-time and on-budget project completions. Deploy quality results with current trends in new home construction and marketing. Must be able to focus and work in a fast-paced work environment with a high production team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Fine Arts, or related discipline
Two+ years work experience in interior design – residential construction industry preferred
AutoCAD experience and skills required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong project management skills - able to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
Excellent communication skills with customers, peers, vendors, and management
Strong attention to detail
Software: SketchUP or other rendering experience preferred.
This is a full-time position and reports to the Design Department Manager.

Responsibilities

Specify materials to create cohesive designs with tiles, cabinetry, lighting, wall finishes, flooring, and plumbing fixtures (not limited to these items)
Generate, update, and manage spec guides and lot selections from conception to completion of each project
Utilize computer applications as well as proprietary software during the design process
Produce accurate details for accent walls, fireplaces, cabinets, and other design-related elements to communicate the design objective
Communicate with the on-site Construction Managers and other departments to implement design ideas and ensure adherence to design specifications
Work closely with Builder Representatives for any design related items homebuyers are requesting
Collaborate with all departments to successfully build a home on-time and within budget
Visit local job sites to analyze homes in-progress and completed homes for how we can continue to improve our designs
Maintain current knowledge of design trends, materials, and technology
Help maintain the materials library through organization, finding new additions, and removal of items
