Description

PART-TIME, REMOTE + LOCAL MEETINGS

Craft homes that sell themselves.
Do you have an eye for timeless interiors and a passion for creating spaces that feel as good as they look?
We’re a boutique real estate development firm in the Seattle area, known for building elegant coastal-modern homes. We’re looking for a part-time 1099 Interior Designer to help us shape the finishes, mood, and materials of our growing portfolio, remotely and on your own schedule, with occasional in-person meetings to review samples and walk spaces.
You’ll collaborate directly with our founder, an experienced developer with strong design instincts to bring each home to life. With clear budgets, established finish libraries, and strong vendor relationships already in place, you’ll focus on curating and documenting selections that elevate the brand and connect with buyers.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2–5 years of experience in residential interior design (new construction preferred)
  • Strong design sensibility with an understanding of resale appeal
  • Ability to draft simple elevations (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar)
  • Confidence in physical sample assessment (tile, flooring, paint, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable coordinating with remote and onsite teams
  • Located in or near Seattle and able to attend occasional in-person meetings
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Degree or certification in Interior Design required (NCIDQ or equivalent preferred)
Responsibilities
  • Create mood boards and finish palettes using our standard selections and past project specs
  • Draw simple interior elevations showing mirror, lighting, and cabinet hardware placement (cabinet layouts are provided by our vendor)
  • Plot furniture into floor plans to test layout flow and functionality
  • Select substitutions when standard items are discontinued, ensuring design cohesion and budget compliance
  • Review cabinet and closet plans for consistency with design intent and internal checklists
  • Maintain a master list of approved finishes and document items to avoid going forward
  • Coordinate with vendors to request samples, check pricing, and confirm lead times
  • Review construction photo updates and flag issues that deviate from design intent
  • Occasionally attend in-person walkthroughs or staging setup to ensure execution matches vision
  • Propose staging plans and collaborate with realtors and stagers
