Description
We are looking for an experienced Interior Outfitting Engineer to join our EPC Division in Turku and take a key role in designing high‑quality accommodation spaces for international marine projects. In this role, you will lead the technical work related to interior outfitting from concept through delivery, ensuring compliant, functional, and cost‑effective solutions while coordinating with multidiscipline project teams, suppliers, and stakeholders. What You Will Be Doing Report interior outfitting design progress and status to the Project Engineer and EPC project management Prepare technical specifications, define scope of supply, and create technical pack documents for interior systems including joinery, furnishings, finishes, HVAC interfaces, and fixed equipment Develop and maintain arrangement drawings, detail drawings, material lists, and installation instructions Coordinate interfaces with structural, electrical, HVAC, piping, and outfitting disciplines to ensure fit, access, and compliance Provide technical support to procurement and create purchase request orders for interior materials and outfitting packages Participate in design reviews, owner/shipyard meetings, and classification society consultations as required Perform factory inspections and site visits to monitor quality and installation progress in cooperation with QA and project teams Prepare and update engineering schedules, cost estimates, and progress reports for the interior outfitting scope Support commissioning, handover, and warranty activities related to interior outfitting and ensure resolution of technical queries Ensure compliance with ALMACO’s Quality Management System, applicable codes, and project specifications Contribute to continuous improvement of interior design standards, processes, and modular solutions What We Are Looking For Experience & Technical Skills Solid hands‑on experience in interior outfitting, joinery, or ship/offshore accommodation outfitting Good understanding of shipyard installation practices, certifying authority requirements, and relevant international standards Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Interior Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred Minimum 5 years of experience in shipbuilding, offshore projects, or complex modular outfitting environments Proficiency in AutoCAD or other CAD tools and Microsoft Office; experience with 3D design tools or BIM is an advantage Fluency in spoken and written English How You Work You take ownership of your scope, proactively identify challenges, and propose practical, technically sound solutions You work in a structured and organized manner, maintaining documentation, drawings, and schedule follow‑up systematically You ensure high standards in accuracy and quality of design deliverables You collaborate effectively across disciplines and with external stakeholders including shipyards and suppliers You communicate clearly and proactively to keep project teams aligned You adapt to changing priorities and tight project timelines while maintaining focus on deliverables You seek opportunities to improve processes, standardization, and repeatable outfitting solutions Why Join ALMACO?
