Description

Our client is a leading Canadian retail and service organization with a large national footprint. They are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join their finance team. This role will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and supporting month-end and year-end close activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information while contributing to continuous process improvements across the finance function. Key Responsibilities - Perform full-cycle accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS. - Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met. - Analyze financial results and investigate variances to identify trends and discrepancies. - Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts and prepare supporting working papers. - Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities. - Support internal and external audit requirements by preparing requested schedules and documentation. - Maintain the integrity of financial data within the ERP system. - Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, procurement, and finance leadership. - Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
