POSITION OVERVIEW

The Intermediate Accountant will manage monthly accounting operations and help ensure financial compliance and integrity across Canada and the U.S. You’ll perform full-cycle accounting, strengthen internal controls, and assist with crypto-related accounting—while gaining exposure to cross-border and blockchain finance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2–5 years of full-cycle accounting experience, including cross-border work.
  • Proficient in general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, financial statement preparation
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent detail orientation, organizational skills, and ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication; ability to work autonomously and collaboratively

Responsibilities
  • Execute full‑cycle accounting: general ledger, journal entries, bank and intercompany reconciliations, and monthly close.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under ASPE/IFRS; support U.S. GAAP alignment as needed.
  • Support compliance: GST/HST and corporate tax in Canada; U.S. obligations (1099s, sales tax, intercompany accounting).
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring internal controls, policies, and financial processes.
  • Collaborate with external accountants, tax advisors, and auditors in both jurisdictions.
  • Aid budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Support inventory accounting and cost-of-goods-sold reporting for hardware.
  • Manage crypto and token-based transactions: classification, valuation, and recording.
  • Contribute to ERP and process improvements, ensuring documentation and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records and support due diligence or financial reviews as needed.
