SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

- 3+ years experience with tax and audit
REQUIREMENTS:
- Teamwork and the ability to support team goals
- Strong commitment to quality and accuracy
- Completion of a University Accounting degree and working towards obtaining their CPA designation
- Development of a business advisor mindset is important
- Thorough understanding of ASPE, CAS and Canadian Tax to be able to complete the more complex areas of an engagement.
- Experience with IFRS and ASPE preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with external clients
- Possess strong project management skills and organization, with the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Caseware, Jazz-it, Tax Prep, QuickBooks and Simply Accounting
Responsibilities:
- Independent completion of small audit, review and compilation files and related tax preparation
- On larger engagements, beginning to prepare more complex areas of the file
- Draft corporate tax returns and prepare appropriate tax checklists
- Prepare personal tax returns including gathering, sorting and entering client information into TaxPrep
- Builds effective working relationships in assignments with operational client contacts
- Responds effectively to client requests
- Begin to perform research and prepare more complex opinions for technical conclusions on client engagements
- Provide suggestions related to an assignment or project
- In house assignments such as accounting research or office administration
- May support and coach junior staff members or staff accountants on the team
