THE OPPORTUNITY:

WSP has an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Archaeologist to join our Heritage team in Fort St. John, British Columbia. As an Intermediate Archaeologist, you will work closely with the Heritage team to lead and manage projects throughout the province. You will gain valuable and diverse work experience as part of our province-wide Heritage team and will have opportunities to work on multidisciplinary projects that will contribute to your professional development. The successful candidate will have or be close to obtaining their Field Director qualification in one of the three Culture Areas.

Responsibilities
  • Lead archaeological field programs, which may include archaeological survey and testing, excavation, or monitoring
  • Work with the project team to achieve the technical requirements and expectations of clients, Indigenous groups, and regulatory agencies
  • Work collaboratively and respectfully with Indigenous communities and their members during all aspects of the project lifecycle
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior project staff
  • Work with the project team to manage scope, schedule, and budget throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain and track health and safety, quality, communication, and documentation for projects
  • Participate in WSP’s Health & Safety program, demonstrating a “Safety First” focus and acting as a role model to other staff
  • Undertaking analysis and preparing and contributing to proposals and technical reports
