WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Fluent in at least one programming language
  • Advanced knowledge of programming principles, data structures, alongside keen interest to expand your skills to encompass new languages and technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, AWS a plus
  • Familiarity with different types of data stores and databases
  • Understanding of infrastructure basics and debugging or maintaining code in production
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada and willing to relocate to Calgary.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Neo Financial is looking for an Intermediate Backend Developer to join our team in Calgary.
In this role, you will collaborate with other talented developers, deliver high quality code and contribute to exciting and impactful projects. You‘ll work on systems design and back-end code while following best practices like agile, automated testing, code reviews, and continuous delivery. You’ll work with cutting edge tools and patterns. Our technology stack is built using a Microservices architecture and comprises TypeScript, Node.js, Serverless framework, GraphQL, MongoDB, all hosted on AWS.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Write and ship impactful code
  • Learn the patterns and practices needed to build robust, scalable code
  • Perform meaningful code reviews with in-depth yet constructive criticism; give and take feedback
  • Actively work on high quality unit and integration testing
  • Ensure solutions actually meet customer and business needs - not just minimum defined requirements
