Looking for Philippines-based candidates Job Role: Intermediate Bookkeeper Compensation range: $1,500 AUD - $2,500 AUD / Monthly Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home. Who The Client Is: A professional services firm in the accounting industry, specialising in outsourced bookkeeping, payroll, and virtual CFO services. They leverage technology and qualified accountants to give businesses clear, up-to-date financial insights and streamline compliance. Role Overview: The Intermediate Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day to day bookkeeping operations. You will work across multiple clients and handle tasks such as reconciliations, accounts processing, payroll support, and financial reporting. This role suits someone who is confident with numbers, enjoys structured work, and takes pride in keeping financial data organized and up to date. You will play an important part in ensuring smooth financial workflows and supporting senior accounting staff with more complex tasks. Key Responsibilities: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Complete bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations. Maintain general ledgers and ensure accurate data entry. Assist with preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports. Support payroll processing and compliance requirements. Prepare BAS, IAS, and other regulatory submissions under supervision. Investigate discrepancies and resolve financial data issues. Communicate with clients to collect information or clarify details. Support senior bookkeepers and accountants with end of month tasks. Required Skills and Qualifications: 2+ years of proven experience in Australian bookkeeping, ideally at an intermediate level. Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and general ledger maintenance. Proficiency with cloud based accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data. Good communication skills when working with clients and internal teams. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines. Strong problem solving skills and willingness to learn. Relevant bookkeeping or accounting certification is preferred.
