Civic Consultants (Civic) has an opportunity for an Intermediate Civil Engineer in Abbotsford.
Civic provides civil engineering and consulting services to local government and private sector clients in the Lower Mainland of BC.
Civic expects the successful candidate will be a motivated, results-oriented individual who is seeking opportunities for career growth. The successful candidate will have experience as a project manager and engineer of record on municipal infrastructure and land development projects, in British Columbia, and will possess a strong background working with municipalities, developers, and contractors.

The successful candidate’s experience includes:

  • Linear infrastructure design including water, sanitary, stormwater management, roads, and earthworks;
  • Design of municipal infrastructure including PRVs, booster pump stations, reservoirs, lift stations;
  • Building and developing client relationships;
  • Feasibility Studies;
  • Site Grading and Roadway design;
  • Contract Administration;
  • Project Management;
  • Proposal Development; and
  • Technical Project Review.

Required Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited University; and
  • Professional engineer designation (P. Eng) in BC, or eligible for registration, is required, with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in civil/municipal consulting, including design of municipal infrastructure.

Experience and Proficiencies

  • Engineer of Record on municipal infrastructure projects;
  • Independently managing a team of subconsultants and staff;
  • Competency in municipal infrastructure design principles and best practices;
  • Reservoir, PRVs, booster pump stations, lift stations, and related municipal infrastructure;
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally with municipal clients, developers, contractors, and regulatory entities;
  • Working knowledge and experience with the administration of MMCD contracts; and
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Value Added Certifications

  • MMCD Certified Contract Administrator (CAA) Certificate; and
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Accreditation.

Civic offers this infrequent opportunity for a motivated individual. We provide a competitive compensation package that includes extended medical and dental, and the opportunity for equity position or profit-sharing bonuses. The base salary range is expected to be between $105,000 - $125,000 and is dependent on the successful candidate’s experience.
