JOB SUMMARY

  • Responsible for the technical aspects of system integration projects and project management responsibilities as required.
  • Execute and/or lead small to mid-sized automation projects.
  • Develop controls designs and electrical schematics; specifying hardware and components.
  • Develop PLC/HMI/SCADA programs using various platforms.
  • Set up VFD’s and Servo systems.
  • Commission and debug machines at client sites
  • Develop and verify systems; understanding safety risk assessments.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and fluid power systems.
  • Manage client relationships and project scope under the direction of leaders.
  • Provide direction and mentorship to other team members.
  • Report regularly to management and/or Team Leads and complete necessary documentation.
  • Uphold safe work practices as per RidgeTech Automation’s Handbook and Health & Safety Program

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Robotics & Automation, or similar education
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience specific to the Controls and Industrial Automation industry

EXPERIENCE

  • Programming experience with current PLC, HMI, and VFDs is required.
  • Integration project workflow experience; from kick off, to design phase, programming, FAT, SAT, deliverable handovers and close out with a focus on client satisfaction.
  • Electrical design fundamentals or 3D CAD development using software such as EPLAN, AutoCAD, Solidworks, Inventor, etc.
  • Robot programming and configuration of multiple manufacturers (ABB, Fanuc, Motoman, Nachi, Kuka, etc.)
  • Independent on-site commissioning and start-up experience
  • Successful track record of project management and maintaining client relationships

KNOWLEDGE

  • Exposure to various automation processes (automotive, food and beverage, agricultural, mining, pharmaceutical, etc.)
  • Programming knowledge of multiple software platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Omron, Toyopuc, etc.)
  • Exposure to SCADA, motion control, and peripheral systems (vision systems, marking systems, weld systems, etc.)

  • Possess a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Be highly motivated to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Be willing to share knowledge and mentor others at various levels.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Have reliable and dependable transportation for local travel.
  • Hold and maintain a valid G license and valid passport.
  • Be willing to travel and be able to travel abroad if required.
