STUDY DESCRIPTION:
Co-led by Mothercraft, the University of Ottawa, and York University, the study is titled “Optimizing Mental Health for Infants Exposed to Early Adversity: A Comparative Effectiveness Study of the Breaking the Cycle and Maxxine Wright Programs”. This position will report to the Manager of Clinical Services at the Breaking the Cycle and the Principal Investigator at the University of Ottawa. The project has received funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. The overarching goal of the study is to explore the effectiveness of early intervention services for child development outcomes.

POSITION PURPOSE:
Reporting to the manager of clinical services, the Community-Based Researcher (CBR) will be embedded in the Breaking the Cycle (BTC) community centre. The Community-Based Researcher will take primary responsibility for the role out and execution of a research study protocol funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. The CBR will monitor the status of participant completion, which includes participant contact and tracking, built-in reminders, and incentive distribution. They will also be responsible for conducting the in vivo observation and coding of the mother-child relationship.
