Your Opportunity We are currently seeking a full-time intermediate level Electrical Technician/Technologist, to join our Energy and Resources Team. You will have the opportunity to join our Integrated Design team providing project design support through our entire Energy and Resources operating unit. This includes exposure to industry sectors such as Power Generation and Distribution, Oil & Gas, Mining, and the rapidly growing renewable energy sector and energy transition projects across North America.  As an Electrical Technologist, your role is to work with direct supervision and general direction on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a senior Technologist or Engineer. Your Key Responsibilities * Under the direction of an Engineer/Technologist, assist with engineering design activities for projects of various complexity/sizes supporting design for buildings, underground electrical distribution systems, lighting, and wiring means. Complete tasks as assigned in a timely, thorough, and organized manner. Tasks may include, but are not limited to:  * Perform thorough quality control (QA/QC) of models and sheet files for standards compliance, discipline coordination and ensures comments have been addressed by the responsible CAD Technician and others as required. * Ensure that all drafting work is completed accurately, on time, and within budget. * Review and check drafting work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards and codes. * Provide technical guidance and support to drafting personnel. * Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers to ensure that all drafting work is coordinated with project requirements. * Coordinate with external contractors and vendors to ensure that all drafting work is completed to the required standards. * Ensure that all drafting work is properly documented and stored in accordance with project requirements. * Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure that project deadlines are met. * Supports project team in development of design documentation, plans and reports. * Collaborates with other disciplines (architectural, mechanical, instrumentation, civil/structural, process piping etc.) to ensure compatibility with the design intent. * Participates in hazardous classification and other process safety assessment, evaluation, and design sessions. * Assists in development of Construction Work Packages (CWP’s). * Participates in site visits and field engineering work. * Applies appropriate codes, specifications, and standards (both legislated and client-specific). * Understands and works within Stantec's project delivery, and quality control guidelines. * Complies with Stantec's EH&S program, with a focus on safety in the field.  Ensure all work is completed with safety of paramount concern. * Assist with client-specific document control and comply to client specific standards. Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
