Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for:

  • Preparing layouts, drawings and bills of material
  • Utilizing Solidworks Design Suite to manage or develop wiring schematics, wiring harness drawings and panel assemblies
  • Ensuring compliance to various regulations and standards across multiple regions and markets
  • Manage the electrical design of a machine from kick off to commissioning.
  • Manage the technical aspects of a project. Communicate with clients to ensure their demands are met.
  • Selecting and/or designing components for function, cost, reliability, and manufacturability Interacting with suppliers and support purchasing process
  • Interacting with various other engineering groups and disciplines within the organization
  • Working closely with the shop during assembly of equipment
  • Performing test procedures on various machinery including AC motor control and HVDC systems
  • Working closely with Controls/Software Engineers and communicating associated design implications and requirements involving electrical/electronic system design
  • Utilizing multimeters/ oscilloscopes, Controller Area Network (CAN) tools for design, assembly, and validation

Required Qualifications:
· Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field such as Electrical Engineering, or similar program
· A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position
· Knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code and the Canadian Electrical Code
· Understand wiring, motor control, PLC programming and how they communicate across machinery and link together
· Possess a high proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
· Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
· Strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines
· Self-motivated and capable of taking initiative to complete tasks
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
