ROLE:

We are seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to support the design and analysis of power systems in heavy industrial and nuclear power generation facilities. The role involves working on low- and medium-voltage systems (120V to 24kV), with certain interfaces at high-voltage levels (230kV to 500kV). The successful candidate will contribute to engineering design from conceptual to detailed phases, as well as support construction, commissioning, and project turnover.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform design and analysis of power systems from 120V to 24kV in heavy industrial/nuclear environments.
  • Develop electrical protection and distribution designs, including calculations and compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
  • Prepare power system studies such as Load Flow, Short Circuit, Coordination Studies, and Arc Flash analysis, with experience using ETAP or similar software considered an asset.
  • Work on greenfield and brownfield projects, ensuring integration with existing electrical systems.
  • Interface with clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies, including utilities and nuclear facility operators.
  • Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and turnover phases of projects.
  • Review vendor drawings and technical specifications for electrical equipment.
  • Write technical specifications for electrical equipment.
  • Design AC and DC schematics for different applications.
  • Ensure that all designs adhere to industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, and controls engineers.
  • Support project documentation, reports, and design review meetings.
