Description

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in electrical design and testing, preferably in a related industry
  • Excellent design standards and strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Effectively focus on high level project objectives while executing detailed design tasks.
  • Incredible attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated technical skills along with a proven track record for success.
  • Experience in the design specification, installation and connection methods of electrical equipment.
  • Design and review PCB Fab drawings, PCB Assembly drawings and provide input into new product designs.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills (technical reporting).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as effectively within a team environment.
  • High degree of organization, with the ability to prioritize task.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience with the following would be considered an asset:
  • Experience with Altium.
  • Experience with Zuken E3.
  • Experience with Sonar systems especially in an ocean environment.
  • Experience with LabVIEW.
Responsibilities
  • Design and develop printed circuit boards (PCBs) for electronic systems, ensuring functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Conducting circuit simulations using software tools to analyze and optimize circuit performance, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Designing wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for electrical systems, considering factors such as signal integrity, thermal management, and EMC/EMI compliance.
  • Developing system architectures and integrating electrical components into larger systems, considering overall functionality, performance, and safety requirements.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, firmware engineers, CAD drafters, and product designers, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other components.
  • Developing test plans and procedures, conducting testing, and performing validation to ensure the reliability and performance of electrical systems.
  • Follow design criteria for projects using required codes and standards.
  • Participate in the design review process.
  • Review of engineering deliverables.
  • Work with the Production department to provide technical assistance during the manufacturing process.
  • Understand project requirements and provide operational support while in the field.
  • Mentor Junior Electrical Engineers and Technologists.
