OVERVIEW OF JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS INTERMEDIATE POSITION

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, with approximately seven years of relevant experience in dynamic power system studies
  • Proficient with power system modelling and dynamic analysis tools, including PSS/E, DIgSILENT, PSAT, PSCAD, CYME and EMTP-RV
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and manage several projects simultaneously
  • Good communication skills and ability to work on a team

We’re looking for an intermediate electrical engineer with about seven years of experience to join our team specializing in dynamic power system studies. You’ll be involved in complex, innovative projects, working with recognized experts in the field.
We value the expertise and autonomy of our intermediate engineers. You’ll need to demonstrate solid experience in dynamic power system analysis and be able to lead technical studies while working effectively with team members.
We’re looking for a motivated and passionate electrical engineer to help with our success.

AN OVERVIEW OF YOUR MANDATES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to lead dynamic power system studies, supervise advanced modelling efforts and mentor junior engineers as they develop their analytical skills. You’ll be expected to:

  • Model MV and HV power systems, including hydroelectric plants, wind farms and solar parks, using specialized software while integrating design data and operational parameters
  • Perform in-depth power system analyses, including dynamic behaviour studies
  • Identify risk areas and propose solutions to improve system safety and stability
  • Work closely with other engineering teams to incorporate the results of system behaviour analyses into the overall project design
  • Draft detailed technical reports and present results to internal and external stakeholders
