JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intermediate Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EI&C) Engineer to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions. Working alongside experienced engineers, designers, and clients, this role will support the development of reliable, cost-effective designs that meet project objectives, safety standards, and applicable electrical codes.
The Intermediate EI&C Engineer will take responsibility for a range of engineering tasks, including creating and reviewing technical documents, performing calculations, specifying equipment, and providing field support. Our projects include work with Metro Vancouver wastewater treatment facilities and major pulp and paper producers across Western Canada.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in electrical and control systems, demonstrates technical proficiency, and shows initiative in problem-solving while maintaining a commitment to quality and client satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation and Controls, or similar as recognized/required by Engineers and Geoscientists B.C.
  • Registration as a P.Eng with Engineers and Geoscientists B.C. is preferred
  • 2-6 Years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Familiarity with electrical and instrumentation codes and standards
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices is an asset
  • Proficiency in Excel and coding and writing scripts is an asset

Responsibilities

· Prepare and review engineering design packages, including single-line diagrams, control schematics, panel layouts, and network architecture drawings.
· Develop technical specifications, datasheets, and equipment selection criteria for electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
· Perform engineering calculations (e.g., load analysis, cable sizing, voltage drop, short circuit, and arc flash studies).
· Coordinate design deliverables with drafters and designers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and standards.
· Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure designs meet safety standards, applicable electrical codes, and operational needs.
· Support procurement by preparing RFQs, evaluating vendor submissions, and reviewing shop drawings.
· Provide technical support during construction and commissioning, including site visits, inspections, and resolution of field issues.
· Ensure designs comply with CSA, IEEE, IEC, and other applicable industry standards.
· Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and budget monitoring.
