QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency with PC software Excel, Word and email;
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Ability to multitask and anticipate process before directed to do so;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
  • Ability to prioritize duties and use good judgement;
  • Minimum two (2) years payroll experience preferred;
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft HR/Payroll will be considered an asset;
  • Completion of the NPI’s Payroll Compliance Legislation and Payroll Fundamentals 1 courses and actively pursuing PCP or CPM payroll certification an asset;
  • Bilingual an asset;

Responsibilities
  • Execute specialized payroll functions including data entry, calculations, and preparation of reports, remittances, and summaries in compliance with established procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders through correspondence and by responding to payroll-related inquiries.
  • Support payroll operations by adhering to policies, identifying process improvements, and contributing to team objectives, while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
